Went here as my female dog was experiencing pain and wasn't eating didn't know what was wrong with her . So brought her to this vet. He charged 160 for basically given a painkiller but had no idea what it was. So went over again the next day as my dog was still not well . He wrote a referral letter for the dspca and wanted another 30 euro. Me and my partner initially pointed the problem area to him the stomach area as we had been observing our dog. The dspca removed her uterus but I found out my dog was sick becuase she ate some plant bad for dogs. So my conclusion is he doesn't prefer surgeries despite being an emergency vet! Didn't probably diagnose my dog. And a chancers who's in it for the money . If your dog not well go to the dspca avoid this chap

A year ago my dog fell Ill she was shaking and vomiting I brought my dog here in a Sunday night he gave her a check and some tablets and sent us home said she had an infection the next two days she wasn't any better I brought her back and same thing an injection and sent home two more days still not improvement so we brought her back only to be told he didn't know what was wrong and told us to bring her to the dspca straight away wrote us a letter and tried to charge us 30 Euro for writing a letter I told him I would not pay it for a letter when I did get her to the dspca the next morning they asked who the vet was and I told them the story they were very angry at the way he handled the case as he didn't give her the correct treatment he wrote in the letter she had an infected womb they removed the womb and then found out she had stomach imflammation due to eating an ivy leaf I was so angry he doesn't even have the proper equipment to do a thorough examination so please bring your dog to a vet practice don't waste your time and money with this guy

Highest rating I could give. Patrick is extremely professional, Very understanding could have dealt with a nicer person. Rang Patrick at 8.50pm he told me to come straight up with my Hedgehog there was no hesitation even though I had such an unusual pet. Got there Patrick opened the door and invited me in before I had even got to the front door. He was extremely professional and efficent which was very reassuring while I was worried about my Hedgehog. Not only did Patrick see my pet at such short notice, he also gave him 2 injections and still only charged me the quoted price of €40 (extremely good value). And aswell as all of this he said he will ring me a few times to check that everything is going ok. I will 100% be returning to this vet with any problems I have in the future.

10/10, we have brought numerous animals to Patrick, both dogs and cats. He is excellent, very caring (always rings to check on how they are doing) and meticulous in his detail. One particular example of note from the first time we met him - a dog of ours had been attacked and the wound had been stitched by another vet twice previously and had burst open. Patricks stitching was very neat and efficiently done and the dog went on to make a full recovery. Additionally in relation to the posts calling him rude, he is moreso straightforward and very calm which I prefer when dealing with the stress of an animal being sick. To my knowledge he is quite busy so you ring before you go down, he is a one man vet and in my opinion cannot be expected to answer the door on demand when he is most likely seeing patients. I am quite surprised at some of the reviews on here and sorry for anyone that felt it was a negative experience. However I imagine the term emergency vet is a misnomer in the sense that he is a vet on call. Anyone I know who has made an appointment and subsequently visited him has had a very positive experience. Would recommend.

So rude. Didn't introduce himself as an emergency vet, or by name. Super abrupt. Absolutely no knowledge of guinea pigs. Tried to suggest I give my guinea pig a dose of painkiller based on the calculation for a dogs weight. You should be so ashamed to be in a caring career because you clearly don't give a damn.
