Note: This dive shop allows dives with two people - most other shops will only guarantee the dive if there are minimum four people.

I could not be happier with the experience I had with Blue Magic. The entire crew was absolutely amazing! Paulina's customer service and assistance planning in advance was worry free and on point. Juan and Mark were great to dive with as they were extremely knowledgeable of the areas, the weather, the currents, and general tips and tricks to make our dive a better experience. Juan and Mark were personable and shared a lot of great stories to make us laugh and enjoy ourselves.

We did a wreck dive and saw this monstrous green eel inside one of the rooms (that eel must be eight or so feet long). This was my first time diving Cozumel so it was a great experience seeing how the drifts work and have awesome the coral/marine life was.

If/when I head back to Cozumel I will without a doubt join Blue Magic again. Thanks for the great experience!

This is a bit of a long-winded review, but when cruising Google reviews for more info about this company and beginner tours, I couldn't find a lot of information.

This was honestly one of the most amazing experiences in my whole life. We were a little worried about this dive as both of us had never scuba dove (dived?) before. I can say that we are officially hooked.

I had several questions about the dive so I emailed the company before booking the dive. They responded within the hour and completely answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. We decided to book the Discover SCUBA Plus tour, as we do not have any diving certification. Another great part of Blue Magic Scuba is the small group size. Our group only had 3 divers! The day began in the equipment room sizing us up for all our gear and getting to know our guide, Mario. He is a great guy, and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. After he picked out our gear, we got in a taxi and went to the first dive site. Mario put us through the theory part of the dive, explaining everything we needed to know to get started. He explained everything in almost perfect English we needed to know to be safe in the water and left no subject untouched. I went from knowing absolutely nothing (and I mean nothing) about diving to being very comfortable with what we were about to do. After putting our gear on for us, we stepped into the water and he guided us through the process of diving in chest deep water. After he was sure we all felt comfortable, we proceeded on to our first dive site, just off the shore. We swam around a small reef just off the beach for about 35 minutes checking out some really cool coral formations and different kinds of sea life. After that, we piled into his truck, and he drove us to the marina where we departed on a boat for our second dive. This dive brought us to one of the most amazing locations I've ever been to. This reef was teeming with fish, coral, eels, stingrays, and many other kinds of marine life. It was absolutely breathtaking. One of the members of our group was very uncomfortable at the beginning of the dive, and Mario was an absolute wizard when it came to calming him down, and spending a great deal of time further showing him the ropes of Scuba. By midway through the dive, he was totally calm and comfortable and having a total blast with the rest of us. To see someone go from being borderline afraid to being totally calm and confident in such a short time really pays homage to Mario's instructing and people skills. We stayed at the reef for about 50 minutes before heading back to the dive shop to end the day.

Overall a great experience for beginners, and they offer other tours for pros as well. The equipment was newer and clean. Thank's Mario and all the other staff for this great day. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will be sure to go for another dive. If you are in Cozumel and looking for this type of experience, look no further. Great honest company.

*One thing I will mention if you are planning this dive; eat a big breakfast. There is no meal included in the tour, just a few light snacks so if you eat a light breakfast, that may be an issue. We knew this going in, so it wasn't an issue for us.

I decided to go scuba diving for the first time ever and I was very nervous! I picked blue magic scuba because of the ratings and I was not disappointed!
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!

THE dive instructor was very knowledgeable and very patient.
THE instructor took the time to fully explain everything and answered all questions. No part of the instructions felt rushed.
After the instructions, we practiced in shallow water in order to get comfortable.
Before I knew what was happening, we were deep under water with countless colourful fish!
THE instructor stayed with us at all times and was very patient and helpful with beginners.
At one point I got a little nervous and wanted to get to the surface. The instructor took the time to calm me down and explain how I was breathing/descending wrong. Before long I was 12 meters under the sea, swimming with fish and feeling very calm! And I have never felt safer.

Amazing tour, amazing instructors, and amazing location!
Highly recommend!

I did 4 dives on Cozumel with this dive center and unfortunately I do not keep a good memory of it. The price is expensive: after negotiation, you can count about 90 dollars, material included, for 2 tanks (but then I met another person who paid about 50 dollars for the same thing, good for you if you speak fluently Spanish over the phone!).

The equipment is old and worn, so it was very difficult to find the buoyancy, I was constantly adjusting the air in my BCD, and I had difficulties to pass under a tunnel. Also I almost lost my weight belt because it was closing badly. The dive center provided me a computer for courtesy but it was so bad quality that nobody knew how to operate it. For safety, bad choice.

The instructor during the first two dives had not taken his wetsuit, therefore we stayed at shallow depths (for him not to be cold). This is inadmissible when you wait during the whole year to scuba dive!

On top of that, over the 4 dives on Cozumel, with great weather conditions, I only saw a few underwater fauna while we went to very good sites, so I really do not understand : either the instructor didn't bring us to the right spot, or the sites are really deteriorated today.

In conclusion, I strongly DON'T recommend this diving center.

However, do not hesitate to go diving in the Cenotes with Mexico Blue Dream (club with which I also dived) or Phocea (very good reputation), it is just beautiful and they are very professional.

I found this place since our cruise ship was sold out of scuba excursions. This play was better than I could've imagined. Our dive master was very professional and very accommodating. The dive was beautiful and we saw a massive manta ray. Cheaper than the cruise excursion and no doubt better than it would've been.
