My husband, 2 friends and I requested a tour on the 4.30 pm river cruise and was advised by the attendants, Maddie and Catherine that there was only 1 seat left, and they were unable to accommodate all 4 of us. A few minutes later, my husband approached the attendants to place us on standby should there be a cancellation. He was asked to come back a few minutes before 4.30pm at which time they would have a better indication on the # of available seats due to non-attendance. At the designated time, my husband approached the attendants again and was advised that 6 passengers have still not arrived and they have been unable to confirm their attendance; should they not arrive, we would have an opportunity to purchase these tickets. We waited until after 4.30 pm with still no news from the attandants at which time we noticed only 2 people boarding the boat. I then approached Maddie (who was busy on the phone) to find out the outcome. It was disappointing that after standing there for a while, she did not acknowledge me. After some time she then informed me that there is no space on the boat. To our amazement, as the boat left the dock, we saw 4 seats available! When I mentioned this to Maddie and Catherine, I was told that regulations do not allow a capacity of more than 48 people (including children). We were really fine if we were told in a timely manner that there was no capacity for us. What was troubling is the way the attendants managed this incident.

My friend chartered this boat for his wedding party and their families. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and we mostly stayed inside the break wall, but given the circumstances the crew certainly made the best of the situation. My 6 and 9 year old daughters (along with several other kids on board) got plenty of time steering the boat and being entertained by the Captain and his stories. The crew was totally in tune with all of the guests. Some of us were not dressed properly––they handed out jackets (without being asked). They were very much in tune with the little things that can make or break an event.
