The patio dining overlooking the canal was a lovely setting for what was a good, typically Belgian dinner. The service was a bit lacking (even accounting for the difference between American and European expectations), but the food was quite good and fairly priced. I had the carbonade flamande and enjoyed it immensely. A couple of entrees and beers ended up being about 50 euros. This a great spot to dine canal-side, and seems to be the best of the few restaurants along this stretch of Graslei.

Friendly staff, good service. Had the Gentse Stoverij which was once of the tastiest dishes I have eaten. Highly recommended.

Well what can you say when Google says this place is open until 10:30 and you show up at 9:50 asking for a table for four and the host's response is "does this look like an open terrace?" There has been worse service in Europe for sure but how wonderful for a place to be so busy to turn a customer away in this fashion. It's really too bad as I'm sure the owners hate a review such as this and while the host's time here is temporary this is the final impression for me. I've put in for a suggested change to the time which the host acknowledged as an error but there wasn't so much as a sorry for the problem. Fortunately the place next door was happy to accept our money.
