I traveled from the west end of the city on a recommendation, and was surprised, and beyond delighted.
The staff make this place wonderful. We had the personal attention of the owner for most of the vening, not too much, just a perfect amount. The wait staff were equally as caring and catered to each of our nuanced requests; mostly more blue cheese dipping sauce for the pizza crust.
The mean was exceptional. I pride myself on personally judging pizza from all over the city, and the world for that matter and what they have at Mr. Ciao is truly unique. The crust is a magical combination of flaky crispy on the outside, and warm moistness on the inside.
It was a warm summer’s even, the patio was filled, but quiet, and the ambiance was terrific.
When we advised that we were definitely make the trip back across the city, the owner simply suggested moving to the east end. And, truly, we did for a moment.

I booked my 40th birthday party here and could not have made a better choice. Raquel the owner and Robin, one of the staff, were both immediately on board to help me realize my expectations of an awesome, good times get-down. I felt totally assured by the team there and left the catering choices up to the kitchen. My group of about 35 guests raved about the food and enjoyed many many many drinks thanks to the wholly professional and efficient wait and bar staff. I think we all imagined our ridiculous dance-off would burn off the potential hangovers but...not so much.
I will always (hazily) remember my 40th with great fondness thanks to the folks at Mr. Ciao and would highly recommend it as a party venue or as a place in the hood for drinks and good food.

Loved our experience at Mr Ciao. Close to the core with tons of convenient parking. Sat us beside their kids area where our son played the entire time we ate. All items reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the fried bruscetta and pizza. Favourite was the homemade pasta though. Definitely recommend!

Some of the best pizza I have had in a long time, we sat out on the patio and had a wonderful dinner. This is a cool place, Italian food down in Chinatown. This is one of the only patios in the area so we will be back for the food and drinks.
