CDPHP = scammers. If you come down with any serious health issues and need surgery, you have the surgery because you must, they'll tell you that you're covered, you'll feel confident and secure and go on with your life. Then the fun starts. Approximately 11 months later you'll get a bill for the full cost of the surgery. When you call CDPHP to inquire about this absurdity, they tell you some story about how they sent several letters over a 6 month period alerting you of a denial and that you missed the 180 window to file an appeal and that, sorry, there's nothing we can do. I never got 1 letter about this from them! They found a loophole in NYS law which does not require them to get written or verbal confirmation that you have been denied. It's a scam! Find a different provider or you may be their next victim.
For the record; My condition was completely debilitating and they reversed the approval because some suit determined that my surgery was cosmetic. I have a massive scar, x-rays, and MRI's that prove otherwise but I never got the chance to appeal because they manipulated the legal system. Is that who you want to depend on?

This is the worst Health Insurance you could ever pay for!! We have paid for this CDPHP Health Insurance for over 30 years and now that we need them they won't cover my daughters illness. They waste your time by telling you that you can appeal their decision but it is a complete waste of time. CDPHP will never let you win! They refer you to incompetent specialists....we were referred to Doctors who have only been practicing for 6 months. Beware you never realize how bad CDPHP is until you need insurance.

I don't know why I see 1 star when I google CDPHP, because they are one of the best Health Insurance. They answer the phone, they take their time, they explain everything ok. Their coverage is average. There must be something wrong with Google?

I'm surprised to see all the one stars. Their phone customer service is top notch, they send out payments and EOBs in a timely manner, and just about every hospital takes them. And in more than ten years, they've yet to screw up our paperwork.

I was on a medication that made me sick and deeply depressed and on top of that did not help the thing I was taking it for.. I found something that worked great..it made me healthy, no more pains all over, and most of all the depression completely disappeared...buuuuuut CDPHP refuses to cover it and insists I go back on the drug that makes me want to die. Thanks for caring CDPHP.
