Gallery Salamanca

My husband and I visited Gallery Salamanca in May 2017. We were wandering around Hobart when we came across it and were instantly struck by the beautiful art work on display. We couldn't help but be drawn into the gallery.

We surprised ourselves by spending almost 2 hours there in total and Mitch, curator extraordinaire, talked us through every piece we showed interest in. He provided us with a wealth of background knowledge and stories about each artist and the techniques involved in creating the works. We were enthralled!

We had no intentions of buying anything but Anne Clifton's glass work seemed to leap off the shelf. I'd been looking for a piece of glass art for nearly 30 years and nothing every quite grabbed me until we saw her work. Given it was our first wedding anniversary and with the help of the Tasmanian Government, who makes it easy for anyone to invest in art, we came home with this exquisite piece, which we will love always and remember with fondness our special time at Gallery Salamanca.

If you're looking for a place to spend some time viewing outstanding and unique art, this is the place to go. Thank you Mitch for the time and expertise you shared with us.

A delightful experience selecting a unique, locally produced glass object with staff that really knew their subject and went the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction. A fragile item packed professionally, handled gently by the courier, who kept it in his cabin, to deliver it unmarked and in one piece.

Fantastic Gallery and amazing service from friendly staff, who go out of their way to assist in making sure you get the right art work for your requirement. Supporting local artists and after making 5 purchases I would highly recommend this gallery to anyone wanting that special piece for their place.

This is definitely the gallery You want to go to when visiting Tasmania. Beautiful merchandise and the customer service is amazing. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful about the items I was interested in and also purchased. I'll be visiting Tasmania again this coming year and this will be one of the first stops on my vacation ;)

I have been fortunate enough to have shopped regularly at this establishment over the last few years. The product range has remained original, broad and authentic and the service impeccable. It is always a pleasure to shop at Gallery Salamanca and I would thoroughly recommend it when looking for that something special.
