Open square with a kids park and school during the day.
Some bars around the square to have Vermouth, Beers or hard licor.
Meeting place for the teens in the evening with their drinks. It can get a little bit dirty and kaotic.
The square has gone through some transformations to encourage the night teens to respect the square and its statue and bring it up to life during the day to allow neighbours and kids to have their square and area back.

Wonderful community place where locals meet to chat and talk,drink and eat. Kids play after school..

This square will always be my favorite place in Madrid. The only spot you can sit on the floor (or the benches) and drink beers that Chinese people sell you really cold. Awesome young environment with good value for money restaurants nearby.

Very interesting place during the evening : a lot of people just chatting, drinking beer cans and smocking cigarettes in the sweetness of Madrid's air.

It's a place to meet with friends and have a drink. Many people drink the beers offered illegally by vendors, then get fined by undercover police. The police are running a trapping scam with the vendors. Be careful going near this place.
